Just a brief post today. We welcomed the fantastic members of the St Patrick’s Evangelisation School (SPES) for two talks – one on the lay vocation and one on the promotion of the concept of vocational discernment amongst peers and the young. After copious doughnut (some more than others!), we had lunch together, a period of Eucharistic Adoration and a walk up to Wandsworth Common. The afternoon was rounded off with a pint – but never to miss an opportunity for catechesis the pub was called The Hope. And the landlord? John Paul.
Seriously, though, it’s great to see these confident young Catholics – full of love and joy and hope for Christ and his Church. I’d consider myself greatly blessed if even one of these guys arrived in my parish – they are a great gift and encouragement to us. If you, or someone you know, would like to give their lives to the Lord for a year of formation and catechesis – to be trained as effective pioneers for the New Evangelisation, do consider enrolling in SPES.
Tonight is a return match – off to Soho Square to hear Fr Robert Barron speak again.
